The film's female lead, Rachel Nichols, just posted these photos from the "Tokarev" filming location in Mobile on her Instagram account. Rachel's hairstyle seems to be channeling the January Jones look from TV's "Mad Men." Not sure that's the current style in Mobile.

shareAccording to her Tweets, Nichols has been in Mobile since right before July 4th--and seems to be there for the home stretch of filming through the end of the month. But, that's still only about a 1/5 of the time that Nic Cage has been on location. So, my guess is her role helps set-up the contrast between Nic's "new" non-violent life with the brutal"Taken"-like hard-ass that he must revive in order to save his kidnapped daughter.
What would be interesting is if Rachel's character had a "twist" to it: like her trophy-wife becoming, unwillingly caught up in the revenge action--and finding out that she's (almost) her husband's equal in taking down bad guys.
One thing that's certain is Nichols, having reverted back to her natural blonde hair, is bringing on the glam--in a way that she hasn't since she left "Alias." Maybe playing all those Tough Girl roles in movies, and two seasons as the tough-but-not-glam cop in the tv series "Continuum" has allowed Rachel to be more accepting of her God-given Good Looks. Whatever, I'm happy to see her out of jeans and in a dress.

My initial curiosity has much to do with Rachel's propensity to bite the dust in recent movies. Alex Cross, Raze. Her focus seemed to have shifted towards Continuum.
