Shocking rating system on IMDB this was a pretty good movie.
Not the greatest, but so-far this year it's defiantly one of the best in my opinion.
How many have you watched? Three? I like Cage but this was fair at best.
shareThe plot outline wasn't bad kidnapping-death-search-revenge-mistake-truth-end, but it was badly made. The DP, Sekula, tried to hard to be edgy and "real" with shaky cam, angles and camera movement. The editing was clunky. The dialogue could be improved.
But yeah, by the time the Russians interrogate Kane, the movie starts getting interesting and improves, but it doesn't really save it from mediocrity. Cage's usual scenery chewing and weird hair doesn't help either. A bit more toned-down performance like in Joe might've worked better, maybe.

shareThere must be 2 films by the name tokarev starring Cage, for the movie I saw was not even mediocre. This is a waste of time for the viewer, even if you don't expect too much.

it's underrated , some people just like explosion and car chasing which lacked on this movie .
shareYeah, THAT'S why people didn't like this movie. It didn't have explosions and car chases. People are seriously using this argument for EVERYTHING now. It's getting ridiculous. You do realize that people who loathe car chases and explosions also thought this movie was a pile of *beep* right?
sharei agree, sure this is not a great movie, but with 5 as a score i expected some pile of steaming excrements...this movie was not that level of bad, ive seen worse with higher ratings

I agree....I really enjoyed it. Seems like people love to bash Nick Cage all the time. He did very well in this film.
