Gun control propaganda...

This movie is so bad in every way, it's obvious that the film makers and Cage had this agenda. I'm sure Islama Obama endorses it.

I am pro 2A and I wasn't really bothered by it. It was very sad, but when these senseless accidents happen it usually is sad. When you mix alcohol, loaded guns (or cars, power tools, sharp objects, etc) and ignorant (someone who has no knowledge of safe gun handling) together tragedy may ensue.

I don't know how Cage feels about guns. I have never heard of him being an anti-gun person.

Well Obama, yeah he is a treasonous Muslim out to destroy the Constitution and this country. So we do probably agree on that.

reply

I'm willing to bet Cage has lots of guns.

Only gun control that could be suggested is to keep them locked up and away from children. Same could be said for the alcohol.

You don't think kids playing with a gun and one of them accidentally getting killed by it works for the anti-gun cause? It's even more of a stretch to construct this scenario in a movie rife with gun violence done by violent gangsters. Don't you think the moral is, "guns are bad?"

Every Hollywood movie portrays the wives(especially) as having a fit over the husband bringing a gun into the house. I've been watching it for years. In real life among regular people, I've never seen such PC fits over guns.

My Grandpa owned guns and passed them down, my Dad owns and believes in guns and my Mom never complained. I've never seen an issue made of any family I've known about gun ownership. But it's a common theme in Hollywood among these elite liberals.

Someone mentioned Nicholas Cage's position on gun control. I have no idea, but most celebrities are sensitive, touchy-feely liberals, so I'm gonna assume he's a PC member, though it doesn't really matter. Writer's write the scripts, studios decide if they like them and Cage will pretty much do anything for money.

I'm also pro Second Amendment and in opposition to pretty much any gun control, but I didn't see the film that way. Unlike Cage's character, people should store their firearms in a way that blends accessibility in times of peril, like home invasion, with some degree of access control. But I don't think it should be a legal requirement.
I saw the film as more of a parable about how a misunderstanding can spiral out of control, whether involving firearms or not.
It's very possible the writer is something of a firearm enthusiast. Does the average person even know what a Tokarev pistol is? I've had one for years, go to a bunch of different ranges and have yet to see another person shooting one.

Respectfully, I think any story that plays as a cautionary tale about guns, is anti-gun propaganda. Kids getting hurt or killed by them and hotheads, going off half-cocked, unjustly taking vengeance... these elements resonate with the vacuous citizenry. Liberals know there are minds for molding and Hollywood/the media never miss an opportunity. That's the way I see it.

I'm pretty sure even the NRA advocates locking up guns when they're not being used.

Did you come up with your trailer looking in the mirror.

What's your point? Was my complaint about locking up guns? No! My complaint is about PC liberals propelling the undercurrent that guns are bad, while Obama calls for gun control. Isn't it obvious they work hand-in-hand?

Only a stupid person wouldn't see it, unless you're smart enough to deny, deny, deny, what's plain for all to see. In America lots of treacherous things get done through guilty denial.

You can't seriously think Gun Control is a good thing, unless you're a trolling idiot. Guns don't kill people, stupid, irresponsible people use guns to kill people. Should we take cars away because alot of people get killed by them?

What kind of moron wants the government to tell us what we can and can't own? The liberal, "I can't eat meat, because a cute animal died for it" kind. Wow, the world is full of overly emotional pansies anymore. It's disgusting really.

maybe I don't understand your views on guns because I am a European.
nearly nobody in denmark has a gun. Some have a permit for hunting.
shouldn't law enforcement be the only one with a weapon.

maybe I understand if you want to have a 9 millimeter for self defence but I have read you are allowed to own uzis or any other combat weapon. - I think that is crazy.

If someone in denmark said they needed a gun to protect themsef they would be locked up and get a straigt jacket.

So we talk about two different worlds.

reply

When our country(The United States) was founded, it was deemed our right to bear arms. That provides us with peace of mind to a degree, that we can defend ourselves from whatever threat comes our way, even our own government. In the US it's especially important these days, for us to have some level of protection against the threat of our own government, and Obama is doing all he can to take our guns away as he does all he can to betray, weaken and sell us out.

In the United States, with an English common law tradition, a long-standing common law right to keep and bear arms has been recognized as existing prior even to the creation of a written national constitution. In the United States, the right to keep and bear arms is also an enumerated right specifically protected by the U.S. Constitution and many state constitutions such that people have a personal right to own arms for individual use, and a right to bear these same arms both for personal protection and for use in a militia. The right to keep and bear arms is codified in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Convicted felons, persons adjudicated as mentally defective, and some others are prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition in the U.S. In most states, residents may carry a handgun or other weapon in public in a concealed or open manner, either on one's person or in proximity, however many states and cities restrict this. Some jurisdictions require a permit for concealed carry, but most jurisdictions do not require a permit for open carry, if allowed. Some states and localities require licenses to own or purchase guns and ammunition, as detailed in a summary of gun laws in the United States by state.

and I think strict rules for who can drive is a good idea.
we wouldn't allow anyone that just want to drive a driving permit.

why do you think it is a bad idea to control which person can buy a gun?

as I understand there is a harder rules for who can drive than for who can buy a gun.

reply

We take a driving class and pass a driving test to drive. There are many rules and restrictions for owning guns. Questionable characters are prohibited from owning guns and the rest of us have waiting periods and are subject to background checks prior to purchasing a gun.

Why do you foreigners want to give your opinions on US laws? I never run my mouth about foreign laws, because that's none of my business. You don't live here so you can't truly understand.

Yea, Tho I Walk Thru The Valley Of The Shadow Of Political Correctness...🇺🇸

reply

You are right I shouldn't interfere. I am just very interested.

however you are not correct.
people that are criminal or mentally ill can buy weapon at arms fair otherwise Obama wouldn't have to change the law to make it harder to purchase weapons.
background checks are currently not required at arms fair.

reply

We call them "Gun Shows" and though I've never been to one, I believe a percentage of them do background checks as licensed sellers. We also have to keep in mind that a "gun show," is akin to a friend selling to a friend and there's really no way around that.

Except that if I had a gun registered in my name, and I sold it to a friend, I'd want the gun transferred into their name, relieving myself of further responsibility for that gun.

In the United States, our right to bear arms, was in part a guarantee by our government, that we would always have the ability to defend ourselves, even against them. I, myself, don't want to be caught defenseless if (as has happened), our government becomes corrupt. Often I ask people, "why do I have to do the math for you?"

So I ask you now, did you really need me to point out this very legitimate reason? Have the governments of the world, really brainwashed us to the point that regular people can no longer reason for themselves, and recognize the threat our own governments pose?

I have no doubt that Obama's an enemy of the state, as proven by the many times he's circumvented our constitution by "executive order." I've never seen a president thwart the very foundation of our country so blatantly and he has our media singing his tune in harmony. While the rest of you outsiders chide us for gun ownership.

Thanks for passing judgement on us without having the essential knowledge to do so, (walk in our shoes first). This is why liberals are called "bleeding hearts." Their sensitive little mouths are always whining about eating poor animals, dolphin safe tuna, bullies and gun ownership. They invent kinder, gentler labels like "visually impaired" as if "blind" is offensive. They champion the cause of gay marriage, because it makes them feel so good and superior. I could go on and on, because they are a loathsome bunch.

Your cars analogy is very interesting, since cars can cause major mayhem, we issue driving licences so that a person that wants to drive a car, is more or less qualified. We should do the same with guns don´t you agree?

Do you think people should also be able to buy explosives? After all, explosives don´t kill people, people who use explosives kill people. It´s such a great argument.

It would be funny if it was possible for radical Muslim terrorist to just buy some hand grenades or dinamite, at the local gun store. And don´t forget that an AR-15 can cause a carnage similar to the one of an explosive device.

A car will be operated in close proximity to MANY other potential victims, but all you need is to prove you know how to operate one to get on the road. Guns are not as complex and most likely will never even be aimed at another human. I wouldn't mind proving firearm proficiency, if we weren't then on a list for the Obama freaks to target. I do believe in staying off the radar and I don't trust our government.

Do you think people should also be able to buy explosives?
There is no legitimate reason to own explosives, unless your licensed (for demolition purposes or something), so be reasonable.

an AR-15 can cause a carnage similar to the one of an explosive device.
I never remembered, because that's a silly statement. A gun is a gun. And we may need them to defend ourselves one day. Sorry liberal drone, you'll not be talking me out of my constitutional rights.

Somebody might argue that they need hand grenades to defend themselves from the government or drug traffickers also. A legitimate reason or because you might need it to defend yourself, is just very subjective.

The AR-15 statement is not silly at all and you don´t have any argument at all, to argue against it, just an ad hominem atack. Guns get aimed at other humans every day, in 2013 there were a total of 33,169 deaths related to firearms. A gun can also be used close proximity to many other potential victims (like a car) like it´s proven in the many mass shootings that occur in America every year. That´s why I think everybody that wants to buy a gun should have a license where it´s proven that they are not mentally unstable or a convicted felon.

reply

Sure guns are used daily, but the vast majority of guns never get aimed at another human and it's ignorant to argue differently. I'll bet less than 5% of all guns(non-military) are turned on other humans.

And of those 33,169 deaths, alot of them are one gun used in multiple killings. Now go away you bleeding heart liberal!

Saying "better" is inaccurate. Higher caliber or a bigger threat is closer to the truth, but most people that own guns don't own AR15's, etc,.

Now if you're saying the cops have a tough job and all this "black lives matter" crap is garbage, then I agree with you. The truth is, bleeding heart liberals get all emotional when a member of a protected race gets killed and they focus on that, rather than on the criminal activity that that minority was engaged in and how uncooperative and volatile they were.

Cops are under threat from these people 24/7 and regular civilians don't know what it's like to try to handle these criminals that could take their lives in an instant. I'd be trigger happy for sure if I was a cop... how can they afford not to be?
