Can someoen tell me what's so great about this show?

Only halfway through ep 1 and all I can see is Naz doing one stupid thing after another and leaving so much evidence behind for someone who wants to be innocent but makes himself look more like the criminal in question.

He was suppose to go to a party but instead becomes some horny fucktard that just decides to take this woman to her destination (mind you he keeps staring back at her every few seconds not paying attention to the road). Some weird crazy knife dares ritual goes on which lead to some sexy time and before we know it she's dead and he's running like a bitch. Also, he always still has the on-duty lights on but only has it off when she was in the vehicle. Another red flag is when Naz said, "Is she dead?" to the cop (how would he know the victim was a she? If I was the cop that is). Even if he didn't do it, he deserves to be charged for it with the way he keeps handling it like he did.

Does the show get any better or interesting cause the first episode isn't drawing me in with all this stupid stuff going on at the start. Someone sell me this show.

One line sales pitch:
Maybe he did do it? 😎
I bet that makes you want to watch another one or two episodes 😉

Full version...

probably not the show for you if you can't appreciate the realistic portrayal of a young, inexperienced (and yes, horny) young man who ends up in an impossible situation just as he dares stepping away from his sheltered life...

Do 18 - 22 year olds you know spend their evenings ensuring that they have an alibi, that all of their DNA is accounted for and wiping off their finger prints? Do they lead entirely sheltered lives and not meet strange girls and veer off from their pre-planned evenings? ... Maybe you do know, young people like this... This show is not about those young people...

I think you might prefer the cut-and-dry CSI or maybe at a stretch Mindhunter...

However...

If you are able to keep an open mind and to go with the flow of the series, you may begin to appreciate the nuanced portrayal of the criminal justice system and the process of enforcing the law and bringing people to justice... In fact, it is not an accident that you are meant to see him as a fool, he is, and that is our natural knee-jerk reaction to seeing a normal human being thrust into a crime show situation, as we have been so desensitised by the previous thousands of shows we've seen... We lack empathy...

it's only later that we rediscover our empathy for him, as we recognise that although he is a fool, maybe he does not deserve to be treated as a murderer... or perhaps he did do it?! 😉

Haha... I do have an open mind but there is only so much I can do on suspension of disbelief before it just starts giving me a headache. Naz was just committing one mistake after another throughout that one whole episode. I get it that teens do stupid things, I was once one too but this takes the icing on the cake. I have to say though after giving episode 2 a shot, everything just got 100x better now that Naz can't do anything as atrociously stupid as in the first ep since he's now in jail. Just had to get through that first hurtle. I am now enjoying the show to its full extent. :)
