Very depressing..

Did anyone else tear up when Naz went back to the bridge and started doing drugs?

reply

No. Felt real to me. If he got out of prison and was suddenly clean it would have pulled me out of the moment.

What's even more depressing is that he's not only a drug addict but also bound to end up in jail in the near future. He's a genuine criminal his time in jail not only addicted him to drugs but also saw him participate in a murder and manipulate people to commit more crimes.

Naz isn't and will never be the guy we saw in the pilot he is and will always be a hardened criminal and is bound to end up back in jail. Yep very depressing but a true interpretation of the how incarceration makes better criminals.

Yeah that was pretty much a downer. Likable guy from a likable family, life ruined.

What I like about the series was how he was not necessarily a saint and I didn't find him likable when the truth came out. He wasn't sure the girl was dead but ran and tried to cover his tracks. The girl was obviously troubled yet he took advantage of the situation. He stole his dad's only means of support to go to a party, what if he crashes the cab? He was dealing drugs. He was shown to have violent outbursts and to hurt people with no remorse or guilt.

The fact that not any of the characters were flawless characters made this very believable to me. Even John Turturro had his own interests in mind even though in my opinion he was the most likable. The police officers and DA where very human too with Dennis Box being likeable and a scumbag at the same time.

Not my usual kind of program but definitely glad you recommended it danloki. The closest I've seen to how the system works even on so called reality TV.

Yeah me too, Boo. Everyone of them was flawed.

The closest I've seen to how the system works I have ever seen

Same for me, and I have a background in the legal system. I don't get the complaints that Chandra wouldn't have fallen for him. Sht like that does happen.

definitely glad you recommended it danloki.

You're most welcome, champ. Pay back for recommending Taboo.👍

I agree partially, but at the same time I think a lot of people missed the point about this entire show. If the ending was depressing it was meant to be, it was meant to perhaps convey how one dumb mistake can cause this kind of damage to someone's life and his family. It was a commentary on how the law and people who work for our judicial system are mostly inept, lazy, and indifferent towards people in general. I don't believe "incarceration makes better criminals", but it shows that someone like in Naz's position will most likely end up doing things inside that System to survive.

Yeah, it was definitely realistic, I agree. But just.. heartbreaking.

Great show. Just so good.
