a stupid question

what if Park Ha got pregnant with Lee Gak's? Would her child disappear to Joseon or what O_o

reply

I don't think so. I think the baby would have stayed with her. It was half her.

I found the ending to be quite sad.

Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell.

reply

I did as well. Sad, but oh so bittersweet.

All along, I thought modern Gak/Tae Yong would wake up and that Joseon Park Ha/Bo Yong would become the new Crown Princess - happy endings all around. Then, from the time I began to suspect it was Bo Yong in the pond. ..my bubble was blown.

Poor Prince lived out his life without his fated love.

I've watched it again and I've decided the ending isn't as sad as I thought it was at first.

I think what they were trying to tell us at the end is that Tae Yong was Prince Lee Gak. While the prince may have had to live his life without her, he did end up with her when Tae Yong didn't recover. I think the end signified that the Prince ended up residing in his body. That's what I'm telling myself, anyway. 

I can't figure out why else they would have shown him in all his princely glory at the end if he hadn't taken up residence in Tae Yong.  There is also what was said between them at the end:

"Why are you so late? I've been waiting for a long time."
"Where have you been? I've always been here."

That was definitely a conversation between the prince and Park Ha. 

The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control, and not the other way around.

Yes, that's all true. Unfortunately, when i buy into fantasy, i buy in all the way and get stuck within the rules and parameters they establish. So fir me,since no one realized who they were previously - even though I believe they ARE the person reincarnated - under the established rules,Tae Yong cannot know himself as the Prince or recognize Park Ha as BoYong.

But I'm willing to accept they ARE these people but don't know it and are destined to meet/love. Park Ha would know only because of her experience with the time travelers but her and Tae Yong would be starting their relationship from scratch with his getting to know her and falling for her.

It's tough being so anal cause i can't step out of the logic they established and accept it in a happier way.

I still enjoyed it though but I still feel like, even if your version is the meaning, the Prince still endured a lonely life (or married but still missed Bo Yong). He couldn't be positive he would be reincarnated or be aware of it once he was. I'm a part pooper for myself.
