It sounds like he just is doing a variation of his own voice. I think it would be a little more interesting if he mixed in a little more Britishness or whatever someone in this century would have sounded like.
Then again, I'm not a dialect expert, so it's so hard to tell.

It's the worse past of the show IMO. It comes across as they are putting as much effort into it as an SNL sketch.
His try at an English accent was truly atrocious. I believe I haven't heard a worse attempt at it by an American actor since Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula.
