Touching Finale

This show got better and better and the Finale was the best. I really
wanted that to be Billy's child but I sort of knew (how in the hell could
she be sure who the dad was with 4 clients a day 5 days a week?) it
wouldn't be. This show is funny and touching at the same time. I can't
wait for the next season!

Yeah [SPOILER ALERT] I wanted the baby to be Billy's as well. It'd be easy to keep the actress on the show considering she's Jim's real life girlfriend.

ha! i actually looked her up halfway through the show and thought that's where the direction the show was going to go. the ending was beyond depressing, Billy had a shot at some sort of normality (wife, kids) and at the end i think the realization dawned on him that he'll be hard to impossible to find someone like Wendy again. She had cleaned up her life and moved away from her boyfriend "Cedric" because she wanted a different life, and on some level she knew that he wouldn't be a father to the child.

wendy: "i guess it's just you and me now, Merlin."

"maybe Cedric"

she knew who the father probably was, but she also knew who she wanted the father to be.

Does anyone know the name of the song that played as the Nugents plus Jim were driving back from the hospital? This episode was very touching as it showed the depth of Billy's character and I think DJ Qualls played last night's role with undisputed emotion and care. Anyhow, hopefully they'll continue this show and it'll be back for a second run.

Once again, does anyone know the song name played as they are driving back from the hospital?

Hey mate

Birds of Tokyo's new single "Lanterns"

Brilliant that Jim chose a Perth band for the song (he is also from here).

Cheers!

Thanks for the quick response! Perth and Austraila are on my to-visit list. Jim Jeffries is one of my personal favorites. Thanks again!

No worries! I just happened to be browsing at the right time. :)

I can't agree more by the way. I am hoping this show hangs around for a few more seasons. I actually got to see Jim front row at the comedy night at the GAC in Melbourne last year and he was brilliantly funny.

Also - did anyone else notice that Billy's family name is Nugent? According to wikipedia that is Jim's real family name, which I found interesting!

Somehow I felt like on the ride back at some point Billy would've said "Turn the car around." and he'd decide it doesn't matter who's child it was and he'd just be happy being the dad for the baby and marrying Wendy.

All I have to say about this is that the show is a true gem. Hardcore comedy WITH stories that show true friendship, antibigotry commentary and humanity. Trully great job.

I didn't like it. I thought the ending was telegraphed miles away, I even knew the baby was going to be black because that's the easiest short-cut for "proving" the kid is not his.

See the season finale of 1600 Penn which basically did the same thing, except with an entire season of building up the oddball relationship of the mother and the white fish-out-of-water not-father. I was happy to see it in 1600 Penn because that show does not aspire to be anything more than goofy. I expect more sophistication from Legit.
