Plot from episode 1?

Loved this, seems promising so will be watching the rest of the series.
Can't help think I've seen the exact same plot in something else before though. ie disabled friend gets taken to a whore house?

I remember him talking about this story on the Opie and Anthony show a few years ago. I can't remember the specifics other than it happened in Australia and not in the USA. I assume it was a true story, if it wasn't it's still pretty damn funny.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia did it.

Really? Dang..... I thought the episode topic was hilarious!!!!! A little sad to hear it's been done before....

I mean, most everything's been done before.....

The difference off course is that Jim did it in real life. So whether one show or fifty other shows did it before, Jim is writing about his life and not copying funny parts of other shows.

In fact get your hands on Alcoholocaust by Jim and experience the full story in Jim's foul mouthed standup manner. It is funnier on stage where Jim is not bound by broadcasting rules.

Having said that, it is good that he got the show on FX and not something like HBO, because his live shows are hilarious but if he were to talk like he does in his live shows to real life people he would make a lot less sympathetic character. The toned down versions of his stories in Legit makes him a more likable character (if not as funny) in the show.

The whole plot is from his "Swear to God" HBO special. I think the stand-up delivered it better, but there are still limits on expanded cable, like FX.

You know the sound that Goofy makes when he falls? That's my quote.

Hey mel it was from "alcoholacoulst" not "swear to god" either way both funny. "Swear to god" ended with the egg up his ass story.

I kept saying the same thing all through the episode. I know it's in his standup stuff, but I could swear that I have seen this same story dramatized in some other production. I even have memories of what it looked like. Exactly how crazy am I?

Taken straight from his stand-up, as previously mentioned. I'm glad the third episode of the show was original and diverted away from it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFZIcLbkdgk

I can promise you a day of reckoning that you will not live long enough to never forget.
