Would you date a racist?

This girl is perfect in every way but she is racist...would you date her?

Personally I probably would simply because I live in a predominantly white area and don't have many friends who aren't white. I know that is a terrible thing to say but it is probably true.

I could definitely see someone with low self-esteem continuing to date that type of person. Personally, I would dump the girl even if I found out she was a racist after months of dating her.

I'd dump a woman if I found out she was racist, but I'd have sex with her first.

The question is...would Jim date one...and, i don't think he would (at least not for long). He's an ass--but one with a conscience. I don't think it would be cool with the other guys either.

This show is ridiculous, but I enjoy it to a ridiculous amount.

Had the opportunity...didn't take it. Went on a drunken rant instead.

Not perfect in every way of course. But at the time (sophomore in college) it seemed that way. I put up with pretty much anything at that time of my life, so it's pretty shocking honestly. In concept you might think you'd roll with it, but I found it pretty nauseating when it actually happened.

Well, most people raised in the US between 1900-1935 have a lot of racism in them. Both my grandmothers were racist (and one never lived in the US until 1980). Studies show most adults have a little bit of racism in them, we have preconcieved notions of race that affect how we view people of those races.

So it's kind of a loaded question.
Plus, I don't think this show really had an accurate portrayal of a racist person so I didn't buy that she was racist. Just poor writing. She hardly seemed to have any rhyme or reason
or socio-economic background that would create racist perceptions in her.

Right. It's just adults. Adolescents are the most tolerant people on Earth. And what are these "studies," by the way. I love how people will just blurt out the phrase "STUDIES SHOW!" to try and give themselves credibility when they have no idea what they're talking about. Studies show I'm right about this.

However, I do agree that she was kind of a manufactured racist. Studies don't show, but just based on my own personal experience, racists behave more out of pure ignorance than merely the fact that they grew up with a racist Dad. If Jim's girlfriend was never allowed around minorities AND had a racist father, then she's an organic racist.
