You've Got Mail

This seems to have a similar style of story.

Seems exactly the same type of movie.

That's what I thought as soon as I read the plot.

More like "You've Got Mail" mixed with "There's Something About Mary."

I'm pretty sure this is a parody of films like You've Got Mail. The plot summary on IMDb doesn't make that immediately obvious, but the trailer does.

It does seem like a parody of You've Got Mail.

Amy Poehler is about the funniest woman alive right now, so I'll watch anything with her in it.

Yes, yes, and more yes. How people aren't seeing that, I don't get. If you know anything about David Wain, you'd understand that. I mean, they even make fun of the cliche bro friends during the basketball scene. They state ALOUD that they're all the types of guys that he needs to be, mixed into one. They even say which guy they each are.

I honestly feel bad for those who go into this film not understanding the style of filmmaking. A lot of people are set to be disappointed, but I'm sure Wain loves the idea of people going into this not understanding what they're in for.

well, even reading the synopsis makes fun of the trope of romantic comedies, so yeah, i think it's meant to be similar to all the corny romance films.

Exactly what I was thinking. I thought they printed the log line from You've Got Mail on the wrong movie poster.

You've Got Mail is one of the most directly spoofed films in this movie.
