Great documentary

I disagree with the first reviewer, he didn't look "tired, old and boring.
In the interviews he went deeper into the various themes that propelled his serious films, especially his philosophical views on the recurring existential problem of death. He is as sharp as ever if a bit physically more toned down.
His final interview comment was brilliant. Woody is still very funny in interviews.

It was superb and I only wish it had been longer, to go into more films in more detail.

I didn't learn much new about Woody Allen or his work and although it would be impossible to chroncile all his movies I was disappointed not to see Manhatten Murder Mystery and Another Woman not get a mention.

It really was just great, I enjoyed every minute of it. His mum's comments made me laugh!! Also the fact that Diane Keaton said she was totally in love with him and doesn't think he felt the same about her. She was stunning when she was younger

I agree that more on Another Woman would have been good, it's easily his most underrated film and Gena Rowlands really deserved more recognition for her role in that one. An interview with her would have been nice.

Overall though I really enjoyed the documentary (watched the 192 minute version) and found it pretty interesting and entertaining. I was kind of relieved that there was an admission on the part of his admirers (and producers) that the late '90s and early '00s saw a slump in the quality of his work. For some reason I was anticipating everybody smiling and pretending that Curse of the Jade Scorpion was actually a good film.

He left a note. He left a simple little note that said "I've gone out the window."

This is being shown on the BBC last night and tonight and I've loved what I've seen so far. Its really great that Allen went ahead with this.
