The bench scene and why John leaves Jane

I get it, it's all predetermined and unchangeable, but...

"Things are happening in the correct order/Some things are inevitable" is a paper-thin justification for such a major plot twist. So John leaves Jane because he is supposed to?

My suspension of disbelief was VERY shaky during that scene.

I think John leaving Jane makes a lot of sense. What was he supposed to do? To continue a relationship with his/her younger self? With himself/herself? Not to mention that would cause a paradox.

"You're not thinking 4th dimensionally!"

It was already a paradox from the start (wherever it started...) and he'd already been having a relationship with herself (Ikr?) and fathered herself a child so why not continue? Could have been the perfect relationship! I know I would ?

The way I see it is that he left her for the unborn Jane - he had no way of knowing how the future would play out if he'd changed it, but by repeating the predestined steps he'd ensure that the girl will meet the love of his live and the happyness of having a baby (regardless of how short that will be).

In The previous versions of the loop barkeep fails to kill fizzle,we know this because the bomb goes off after the laundrette scene,so they have to go back again.
Remember they don't know fizzles identity.so saying f john stays with Jane fizzle would never be created is only after we know the facts.
So John has to leave Jane to become barkeep to kill fizzle.
