What happened to Madeleine at the end? Did Sam kill her (probably not) or did she just depart (more likely) and Sam was going to join her after he faked his own death (or maybe Sam and Madeleine went their separate ways)?
Just wishful thinking at this point but maybe they decided to move on with their lives together in another town, leaving the past behind and taking care of the baby.
It was a good ending. I like when it lets you guess.
I wondered that too, we see her last arguing with Sam in the basement and then ....
