I think she brought her sister and cousin onstage with her when she toured.

They weren't really backup singers.

I saw a documentary about this recently.

They were a mainstream group with several hits and had even toured with The Beatles.


Look, it was in a barn. People do a lot of stupid things in barns.

They were a full-fledged band with five Top 40 hits, so I wouldn't call them backup singers – though perhaps the Ronettes were backup to Ronnie.
