'Lean on Me' Question

I have a gripe with the song Lean on Me that is featured in this 'Documentary' if you could call it that.

Why in the hell would someone lean on another person who's not strong. Wouldn't they fall over themselves? Isn't the point to lean on someone stronger than yourself when you're in need? This needs to be clarified.

"Lean on me when you're not strong." It's the person who at that moment is not strong who is leaning on the other. Geez. Read the lyrics.
