If this is as good as 'Never Sleep Again'....

....then we're in for a treat!

Am I a man or am I a Muppet? If I'm a Muppet, well I'm a very manly Muppet

reply

No it's not as good but only because nightmare is a better movie with more to explore.

reply

I agree about lack of exploration...most of the films' interviews boiled down to MPAA censorship and budget...sure there were a few things about the script but not as extensive as NSA, which is unfortunate.

Jason's mythos is sadly not as rich as Freddy's or even Myers'

"I'm better than okay, I'm Homer Simpson."

reply

Yeah the Friday the 13th movie series is pretty shallow compared to just about anything but that's where a lot of the fun comes from. Jason was never about the story & characters ala Freddy or the suspense and atmosphere ala Michael. Jason was really about tits, ass, blood, rolling head and a lot of campy fun.

I agree with Movie_King. The pretty straight forward rules of the movie is one of the things that gives it it's hook. That's also why the interviews didn't have a great deal of depth to them though, at least compared to Never Sleep Again. Still really enjoyed this doc though. Would recommend it to all horror/sci-fi fans.

There is so much more aspect to be covered on a doc about ANOES then a doc about FT13. ANOES had tons of special effect because of the dream world that alone gaved NSA a lot of material to work with...

Crystal Lame Memories covers a lot of interesting things regarding the series, it's definitely worth the watch, but Never Sleep Again went into much better details regarding the series. And I think that doc was more interesting because that series truly struggled, especially in the Dream Master segment.

But like I said, if you're a Friday fan, CLM is worth the watch.

Anatidaephobia; the fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.

Yes, it's as good. ANOES is a totally different franchise, so of course, it's documentary covers other types of behind the scenes things. FT13th's franchise is less effects dependent, other than gore, so they talk more about the production and the settings. Well I should say that the later movies in the franchise, become more effect heavy, especially Jason X & Freddy Vs Jason.

I like both docs very much. They're very well done and look awesome.

Oh yeah, I Am Nancy & More Brains!, are two more great documentaries.
