Still no Kevin Bacon?

What gives? What is it going to take to get this guy to sit down and have an interview about one of his very first acting roles? Does he feel like he's above the franchise or something or just not care at all to do one?

Nothing wrong with a little shooting, as long as the right people get shot.

At this stage in his career, I'd be surprised if he thought he was "above" talking about it. But then again, I could easily be wrong since I don't know him personally. But my guess is he just doesn't care enough to bother.

We don't know if Kevin was asked to appear in the documentary, but keep in mind that Bacon is a very successful actor, there's no denying that. So, for all we know, his agency could demand a high paycheck just for him to appear in the documentary since he's one of the few who became a really successful star.

It's probably the same with Kelly Rowland, Johhny Depp and Patricia Arquette's absence from the Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy doc. These are busy people. That, or they've might have distanced from the franchises. As for Jared Padalecki, I'd guess he was most likely very busy with Supernatural.

I don't think it's necessary personal, it might just be business.

I don't know if I'd call him successful (even if he was a key player in my favorite movies/franchise of all time), but Crispen Glover was absent as well. They do talk about him and his infamous awkward/weirdness though.

Are you crazy? How do you come to the realization that Kevin bacon isn't successful? Have you checked his IMDB?

reply

Uh no, but I think you may be.

Nowhere did I say Kevin Bacon wasn't successful. Reread my post. I'm talking about Crispen Glover...you took my post and stripped away all its context....if you read further you would have seen that after that sentence there's a "but" explaining who I'm referring to as not necessarily being successful, good ol' George McFly.

"I'm better than okay, I'm Homer Simpson."

reply

LOL maybe you need reread your post over again or learn how to explain yourself better. alternate-dan was explaining how successful Kevin Bacon is. You replied to that saying "I don't know if I'd call him successful...". You THEN went on to add that "but Crispen Glover was absent as well." The key words are BUT and AS WELL, letting us know that you were talking about 2 separate people.

Do better.

reply

I explained myself just fine. If you can't grasp basic concepts it's not my fault.

I wasn't even replying to anyone, just adding my comments.

My comment isn't any different from saying:

"I don't know if I'd call him successful, despite that, Crispen Glover was absent too."

"But" and "as well" are synonymous of those words..

So in other words if you still can't understand

Even though CG isn't as famous either, he too was absent from the film.

It's laughable I had to explain simple concepts.

"I'm better than okay, I'm Homer Simpson."

Kevin bacon seems really proud of it. Recently there was a advert that played in British cinemas and on tv where he played a few of his most famous characters and f13 was there, complete with vest and arrow in his chest (not in the correct place though for gore reasons) he looked like a really old version of the character which was weird. I'm thinking if he was ashamed he would have made them write a different character considering all that he has played in his career. I would bet that this came down to money. His agent wanted a lot and they couldn't afford him.

It also came down to time. They were traveling the world finding the cast and a lot that wanted to do it, couldn't at the time and they were skipped. Bacon still does a lot of acting so they probably just couldn't get a time with him.

He was just talking about it, and they showed his death scene, on Leno when he was promoting RIPD.

I feel it's strange that Kevin Bacon has the time to make silly commercial for a mobile phone/internet company in the UK but he has no time to seat on a chair for an hour to speak about his first film. Makes it look like he only cares about the money! I dont know how much they pay him to do those commercials but it was probably a lot more then what the film makers had to offer him to participate in the doc...

reply

He also might be the type who wants to try and distance himself from the franchise.

"I'm better than okay, I'm Homer Simpson."

Doesn't Kevin Bacon need all the money he can get? He lost almost his entire fortune to Bernie Madoff.
Crispin has a weird conscience about appearing in certain films nowadays, he thought BTTF was about greed!

reply

Well, he was interviewed for the Crystal Lake Memories book, and didn't seem like he was ashamed of it/trying to distance himself (neither did Crispin Glover really). But really, what would you expect him to say? It was a minor role in a small movie years before his big break. He would have had less to say than Alice Cooper did, and probably would have cost more money.
