On Crystal Lake Memories the producers say that the original actor playing Sean was cut due to lack of chemistry. However, the bonus disc shows an interview with the original actor saying he fell while jogging and got a nasty bump on his head, so he was replaced.

Anyone know what really happened?

They made it pretty clear that the actor was fired due to the fact that he wasn't cutting the mustard. They even showed footage of his stiff performance. Watch that section again.

I know, but the bonus disc gives an entirely different story.
