Great documentary!!

The seven hours flew right by. Sure, I've seen a lot of it already. And, I've read most if the stories in the book. But, this is still the best docu on Friday the 13th you're gonna find. Well worth the price and wait. The Feldman opening and closing are f'n cool. He did a great job narrating the whole thing. Now, onto the four hour bonus disc.

Yeah I agree, felt nothing like 7 hours. I feel fortunate that a majority of the doc was fresh/new to me, as it's been years since I watched HNWJ and I never bought the deluxe editions of the films (had the Crystal Lake - Manhattan Boxset from 04)..some interviews did feel like deja vu, from bits/pieces I saw over the years most notably FVJ, but it was definitely a good watch. I never read the book either so that may have helped.

The only gripe I did have was the focus...this isn't the documentary's fault, its moreso the series itself. I love Jason more than Freddy but most interviews boiled down to censorship and budget...it's a shame the Friday mythos isn't as rich as other icons, like I honestly thought there was more thought about making Jason the antagonist in Part II than just the fact Mrs. Voorhees was killed in Part 1 and that they wanted a sequel.

I'm almost finished with part 4 of the documentary. Corey Feldman...why does he look BRONZED? Needs to lay off the self-tanner, and he looks very thin. It's a good doc, but a LOT of this seems (to me, at least), to have been pulled from the special edition DVDs that came out in the past couple of years. May just be my imagination...I'll have to pull them out and look, but much of it does seem to be.

But really, Corey...ewww.

I've watched the part IV through now and I'm so happy about the documentary, they definitely did an amazing job with this one. Hopefully this team will make more documentaries of horror franchises in the future.

there was about 30 to 45 minutes spent talking about each film where as in HNWJ, they skimmed through all of them in what seemed like 5 mins if that, so I had an awesome time watching the whole thing!!!

It's pretty great. Despite quite a few missing cast members and not as many juicy anecdotes as the book.

There's also a good amount of character details I wish they would have touched upon. You get this kind of specific character discussion even more in dvd/blu-ray running commentaries or fans conducting loose, lengthy podcast interviews.
