BOO HOO!!! i didnt get the role in Freddy Vs Jason...

Kane Hodder moaning about how he didnt get the role in Freddy vs Jason was kind of irritating. He was groveling on and on like he was entitled the role..
He was not..
When the producers came to the conclusion that Kane Hodder himself is a reminder of how bad the Friday The 13th films had become they hit the nail on the head..
Years after I had watched all these films in there theatrical runs I would always associate him with the worst the franchise had to offer...Unfortunately sometimes, not always different is better..
and in this case different was in fact better..
Going in a different direction in both Freddy vs Jason and the reboot was the only way to go..
No disrespect to Kane, I know he is a terrific guy and has been a great ambassador to the franchise at horror and comic conventions but its just bad luck that he was the guy in the mask when the franchise sunk to the bottom of the barrel...

Personally i think Kane's jason was better than Ken Kirzinger, i thought he just looked awful, he had a weird smooth leathery looking head and was far too tall.

Neither Ken nor Kane had any say in make up. Jason's head would look like that regardless.

Seeing that his head was already rotten in part 6. It makes sense that it is even blacker in Freddy Vs. Jason.

While I would like to say part 7 is one of my most favorites, and probably my idea of the definitive Jason, I do think Kane, despite being the most famous of the Jasons, starred in some of the lesser entries. I don't mind them as much as most, but JASON GOES TO HELL and JASON X are among the most despised of the franchise. That of course is not Kane's fault, he was committed and eager to continue. Sadly New Line sunk the series lower than Paramount did with 8.

I would have liked Kane as Jason. I'm not sure if it really would've changed much, though.

The overall quality of the movies has nothing to do with Kane. The fact is Kane was and is still the best Jason.

He made the character feel real, brutal and powerful. No disrespect to the other guys but they weren't as imposing as Kane Hodder was.

The whole Freddy v Jason thing was always seen by fans as having Kane Hodder in the role. I can understand them trying something new with the reboot but let's be honest aside from the faster movement which was a directors choice the guy was emulating Kane Hodder for the most part.

So glad Kane is doing all the mocap for the upcoming game. Cunningham knew who the best guy for the role was and he cast him and the game will be better for it.

In Kane's defense, he is the guy most fans associate with the character. He played Jason 4 times on film and will be playing him again with the upcoming game, so I get why he feels like that's his part and considering that the battle for Freddy VS Jason really kicked into high gear when he had the part, including the moment in part 9 which basically said "Yeah, this will happen", it's understandable why he feels like he should've been in that part. And even if those films were the worst, his Jason was always the best part. And the way he got pushed out with neither the director nor the studio taking the blame for it... it's just all kinda crappy.

He should have played it, even though the Friday films he was in weren't any good. 80s vs 80s. that's how it should have been.

I hated Jaws, it had too much shark, and dont get me started about King Kong, waaay too much gorilla

Personally, I think Kane was very, very respectful to the guy taking over. All he said was he felt bad for not being chosen, and that he couldn't find any reason in the final movie why it couldn't have been him. Something I happen to agree on.
