Who is Lowrie?

Who is Lowrie in Season 3, and what is his relationship to Tosh?

In another post, someone referred to him as Beardy Guy.

He is the man whom they initially come to question re: Craig bringing him the deer in the back of the van.

Yes (lol) he has a beard and lumberjack appearance.

The series makes it seem as if possibly Robbie was in the back of Craig's van and that is where the blood came from. This makes us initially not know if Lowrie is a bad/good character. We later find out where Robbie actually was captive.

He asks Tosh out to an art showing. He is the artist who draws animals with tissue damage.

Later, he delivers whiskey and a card to the station for Tosh. This is after her traumatic experience and she has an emotional reaction. It seems they become friends to one another.

I was hoping that Lowrie would return in the next season and maybe be Tosh's boyfriend who could help her through the aftermath of her traumatic experience (withholding what that experience was so as not to spoil it).

Why do I not remember Lowrie? I love this show, but I'm drawing a blank. Guess I'll have to re-watch that season.

It's easy to forget about Lowrie as he's so very quiet even in his dealings with Tosh, but his art speaks very loudly. It's hard to forget the inspiration for it. You'll see what I mean when you rewatch season 3.

I love this show too. It just stays with a person. It's Shetland, I think, that does it. Unforgettable. Of course, Douglas Henshall as Jimmy Perez makes it hard to not think about as well.

I remember him now. I don't see him as a boyfriend for Tosh but certainly as a good friend who was there when she needed someone. A person outside her circle of friends, who would simply listen and allow her to release her rage. He didn't try to tell her "everything will be okay." He knew he couldn't fix anything. He just let it come out and that's what she needed right then.

I would like them to bring him back as a friend for Tosh. Just a small role now and again. I would like to think that the broken man that he is, has a friend.

reply

Yes, I can see him as a friend, but not a boyfriend. I would be okay with him reappearing from time to time.
