Peter Latimer in the last episode? Confused.

Why did they withdraw the money, what was it for?
If Latimer died from a severe blow to the back of the head what on earth was the explosion and how did he escape whilst on fire (after suffering said blow!)?
Why did Latimer go out all night and stash the money - did he know she was dead?
Really really poor ending. It was if the killer was so obvious they inserted these bizare red herrings into the plot. Not even Midsomer Murders ca get away with that!
So answers anyone???
I think you both fell asleep in the last 10 minutes of the final episode - Just kidding ;)
Latimer was blackmailing both Anna (for her affair) and the other couple(for killing Anna) and so Bill killed Latimer as "I couldn't let anyone blackmail my wife".
The money was what Anna paid Latimer to keep quiet about their affair. Latimer saw the lady(sorry forgot her name) push and kill Anna. So while on one hand he hid the money,and on the other he tried to blackmail the couple who accidentally killed Anna, and hence the husband killed Latimer.
The wife killed Anna, the husband(Bill) killer Latimer
Blimey! Well worked out. Quite liking the standard of regional police crime dramas on British tv these days. Hinterland is going to grow on me and Vera is superb.

shareThanks I too was puzzled who killed Latimer, I recall the ring imprint but forgot who's head it was found on. I miss so much of the dialogue, especially Tosh, because of the accents but I love this series and the whole look of the Shetland Islands!
shareI recommend you turn on the subtitles. I'd be totally at sea without them. Even Jimmy Perez seems to be speaking a language other than English. Love the accents though.

shareI just watched it yesterday, and I think they must’ve cut out some number of minutes because I know they never mentioned who killed Peter Latimer.
