Any other knitting geeks out there?

All these sweaters and tuques are making me drool. Looks like a lot of Kate Davies' designs.

Thank you for flying Church of England. Cake or Death?

Duh. You don't know any hardcore knitters, do you? I mean those of us with knitting tattoos, of course.

 Of course. But isn't "duh" the same as "no sh.t Sherlock"? To be honest, and when checking, Kate Davies has a lot of nice designs, but I haven't even heard, nor seen a "knitting tattoo". I still think you have a thing for wool. Oh, and I'll have a cake, thank you.

reply

Really? You need to google 'knitting tattoos'. Mine's pretty badass - it's a ball of yarn shaped like a skull with crossed needles behind it and a banner that says 'Born to Knit'.

reply

But hey, don't you have the automated email notification on, I saw your reply just now. Better late than... And I've googled knitting tattoos, and I have to admit – there are many which are really great, some are cute, funny and it's truly an inspiration. No offence, but what's the thing with skulls and tattoos, even if it's yarn shaped? 'Born to Knit' is cool though. You don't have a picture?

reply

I have a pic somewhere.
Skulls and crossbones to prove that knitters aren't all little old Miss Marples in rocking chairs drinking tea!

Little old Miss Marple gave knitters more status. She figured out everything about everybody from that rocking chair and put the so-called authorities and professionals to shame.

Meryl Streep is a shape-shifter.

reply

Looking forward to see that. Nothing wrong with being an old Miss Marple though, I'm a knitter myself (without tattoos) and that's how I'm picturing myself getting old, solving murder mysteries from my rocking chair :)

Something like this?

Nope, unfortunately, it doesn't. I don't have Twitter myself but borrowed one of my friends and got this message;

"Only confirmed followers have access to Tweets and complete profile @MuskokaRosebud. Click the "Follow" button to send a follow request."

Nice username :)

It's my dog's twitter. I'm a loser.

Are you on Ravelry?

 If you're not on Twitter and your dog is, that is anything but a loser. Love it :) But you should really do something about your notifications, the last reply I got so maybe you've fixed it, the first I didn't.

Anyhow, I had to google Ravelry, and no I'm not anywhere else more than here on IMDb, but I also have a Facebook account.

"Ravelry is a community site, an organizational tool, and a yarn & pattern database for knitters and crocheters."

This sounds pretty cool, and 6.4 million users, that's a lot of knitters, haha. I'll check it up. Is your username MuskokaRosebud? :)

reply

On Ravelry I'm me, so it's lareine.

Jeez, there's A LOT of nice things on the site, I even saw a skirt I'd gladly knit! I did search for lareine, but nothing matched but instead got the suggestion "marine?" 

Anyway, thanks for the tip, I've registered as well, and there are lots and lots of great ideas! 👍

reply

That's weird, I've been on there pretty much since the start!

I'm a hardcore knitter, and I've been astonished that there isn't more mention made of sheep, knitting, or weaving.

reply

No tattoos but many T shirts, my favorite being a large knitting Satan captioned "idle hands". I used to wear I V under my choir robe when I sang at the Episcopal church

reply

There's not even been a mention of Fair Isle technique, even when a couple of episodes were set there.
