Make season 2!

There's always more interesting topics to talk about in science. I'm sure they would be able to make at least 1 more season.

Agreed. Cosmos ASTO barely touched the tip of the melted water that was once an iceberg thanks to man made global change In climate disruption warming cooling ozone hole new ice age.

Perhaps the next installment will will choose real science over political and religious agendas.

"When he found that his long cherished beliefs did not agree with the most precise observations, he accepted the uncomfortable facts. He preferred the hard truth to his dearest illusions. That is the heart of science."

Enough topics to get the religious right stamping their feet again? I don't know if they'd watch a second season after the um... "righteous outrage"  that was provoked by this series:

Criticism
The new miniseries has been criticized by some Christians and the religious right for some of the views expressed by the show. Christian fundamentalists were upset that the scientific theories covered in the show opposed the creation story in the Bible. The Catholic League was upset that the science show "smears" Catholicism. A spokesman for the League noted how the show focused on Giordano Bruno, who was persecuted by the Catholic Church for showing the Earth revolved around the Sun, and stated that the show "skipped Copernicus and Galileo — two far more consequential men in proving and disseminating the heliocentric theory— because in their cases, the Church's role was much more complicated"
A predictable response.

Yeah, lol. I don't really care what the religious people think of this show. It's clearly not made for them. I don't get how people get offended so easily, if you don't like or agree with it, turn it off. Why do they need to make sure people know they were offended. It blows my mind the close mindedness in this world.

Well considering some of us waited over 30 years for a continuation and they chose to spout a religious agenda rather than talk science. You could understand why some of us who are interested in science found the 1st episode to be a letdown. 30min on religion was a bit much. But that's what the producers agenda was and all who watched saw it quite clearly. Science is above politics and religion no matter how hard the closeminded left tries to hijack it.

30min on the ways religion used to be allowed to suppress open debate is entirely appropriate for a first episode on the development of science, but of course this went right over your head.

Science is above politics and religion no matter how hard the closeminded left tries to hijack it.

Science is indeed above politics, but it is in direct conflict with religion.

And it is ignorant right wing blowhards like you that are trying to get in the way of science, not the left. This is just a fact.

What does religion has to do with the science? The ppl who wants to hear about fake creation should go to church. We wanna learn science from this show!

It was important for the show to document how religious institutions suppressed free inquiry into the nature of reality and how completely different scientific reasoning is from religious reasoning. Science did not take off until the shackles of religion where torn loose. This is just a fact.

The show was basically an introduction to the wonders of science and life. There's plenty of material to make like 10 seasons and that's the problem. What would they concentrate on?

Rather than season 2 I would love to see a whole new series, sorta spinoff type, which would dwell a little deeper into the "main" sciences of the show, physics, biology and chemistry (sciences of life). A 10 episode season for each.
