smells like teen spirit

Just saw the last episode of the great show. I really loved it and cannot understand why they cancelled this one!

It has to do with numbers, it just didn't get the viewers that they wanted and therefore not enough ad revenue.

I agree that it was hilarious though and I don't think that there are enough shows out there that catch the 90's quite like this one did. They got the styles just right.

They got some of the styles right. We were not wearing "No Fear" shirts in 1991. That was a late '92 clothing fad. I wouldn't call 1991 "90s". Were you there? You know when people think of the 90s, they see Bill as President, tons of flannel and Quentin Tarantino films in the movies. 1991 had none of that. You could almost make a case for '92 but Quayle was still making headlines as Vice President.

I didn't like how the main character (forgot his name) kept wearing nothing but Earth tones. We weren't wearing shirts like that everyday. There was no Zubaz at all. They didn't miss the Hypercolor mention which was good. The creator didn't give the viewer a good idea of what the early 90s were like, IMHO. "Towelhead" (2007) was much better than this. It was a far more accurate depiction of the HW Bush times. Tell me how this show was on FOX and none of the characters were watching FOX at all back in 1991. They must have been living under a rock.

actually, implying they were watching Fox in 1991 would be an anachronism...

Unless you were in a Major market, Fox was a UHF station, and often at a frequency that required the wind to be blowing just right with a humidity/dew point in a sweet spot so that the signal would carry and be clear
-- Married with Children, itself on Fox at the time was Making fun of this fact well into the Jefferson D'arcy years

Fox only got the NFL, and became a "Legitimate" in 1993...

I know in my area two of our local affiliates, one UHF, one VHF were/are under the control of the same corporate Family (it's a 8? channel market so no Monopoly issues)

Fox debuted on the VHF station in 1987 and I think even launched the Fall 1988 Season on that Channel, however for assorted reasons they Moved Fox up to the UHF channel and returned the VHF to being a Local independent...

in 1993 the VHF became a PTEN station, until 1996/97 when UPN Launched...

2001 saw the UHF and VHF swap with Fox returning to VHF and UPN moving to the UHF channel
