From my thinking he slowed down when he pushed Hawkeye and the boy away from the bullets. That was a electric gun shooting that fires severasl thousand rounds a minute.

Quicksilver in X-Men would have just moved everyone out of the way (gently), then picked each bullet out of the air and drawn a funny face or witty quip on them. "Electric gun" -- good one.
shareJust rewatched this film recently and yeah it's still terrible.
You see pretty much everyone else getting shot at, with the bullets all missing (!) before they amazingly manage to hit him. Plus you've got to consider the fact he could have ran over and got the kid to safety before the thought had even registered in Hawkeye's brain.
Inexplicably poor death.
