This Is What Cinema Was Made For

Cinema is the ultimate realization of comic books, and comic book movies are the ultimate realization of cinema.

"Is SpongeBob SquarePants not down there in Bikini Bottom giving Squidward the business?"

reply

Eh.

reply

The ultimate realization of great, dramatic stories are movies full of stupid jokes and movie clichés? Maybe you've never read any good comic books.

reply

I've read lots of the main Marvel and DC comic books.

They ain't Dostoyevsky, but I like them.

"Is SpongeBob SquarePants not down there in Bikini Bottom giving Squidward the business?"

reply

No, they're not but Age of Apocalypse, Age Of Ultron, the Exiles stories (with the exception of certain characters) did not have all those stupid, out of place, out of character jokes. DC's Kingdom Come and 52 were entertaining without excessive silliness. And my two all-time favorites Y, the Last Man and Preacher were great stories with great characters.

The action sequences are spectacular and the plot keeps you riveted from start to finish. The movie grabs you and eventually drops your jaw right to the floor. From there, the story completely consumes you. It’s one big roller coaster ride to the heart rendering and thrilling finish. Besides the pulse pounding action, the writing is top notch.

reply

The story did not consume me and if you think the writing is top notch you must have never seen any really good movies. You're entitled to your bad opinion.

reply

Just as you are entitled to be a douche-bag.

Of course, his opinion could change....

reply

Douche-bag because I don't think Avengers Age of Ultron is the greatest movie ever made? Douche-bag because Robert Downey Jr. is the second most overrated actor behind Johnny Depp and turns all his characters into sarcastic jackasses? No Marvel movie comes close to Avatar or the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They don't even come close to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Even Kingsman was a better movie. I must be talking to a bunch of middle school children. So watch some more movies after you finish summer school.

reply

No, douche-bag. Because you gave a douche-bag type of reply and had to insult someone for their opinion.

Too bad you are too stupid to understand how big of an azzhole you are.

reply

Douche-bag because I keep replying to idiots like you on this stupid thread. Anyone who believes Avengers Age of Ultron is what cinema was made for is an idiot that has not seen any good movies but I won't keep repeating myself or wasting my day replying to immature morons. When you finish your homework for summer school, read a good book then watch a good movie. I won't be replying back.So good luck in summer school, hope you don't flunk again.

reply

[deleted]

Fuqk? You really are flunking summer school. And I'm terrified of being shot and left for dead. It's even more terrifying that you simple-minded clowns think Avengers is the best movie ever made

reply

That's something Soul City Sue would say.

reply

Marvel gets it and that's why most everyone loves their efforts. Movies as good as AoU are exactly why they invented the cinema.

reply

you must be young

You call that a cameltoe? Put your cheeks into it!

What's your excuse for being on this board then? 

I'm glad it's still showing in both regular and 3D at my cinema. I want to watch it again Tuesday after I see Jurassic World.

reply

But multiple reports on Monday revealed Joyce Mitchell, the woman accused of helping two killers escape, wanted the convicts to kill someone for her.

reply

Best critic quote that I've read about this movie...

It’s textured, intelligent, fun, thrilling and delivers some of the best choreographed fights scenes the genre has ever seen. Most everything feels like a live action jump off the page comic book.

Does comic books proud.

reply

Anyone take the IMDB poll "most anticipated movie 2045" yet?

reply

A more than great reminder of why we all love the MCU so much.

reply

Almost made me puke up my breakfast.

reply

Back away slowly from the pop-tart!

reply

I feel sorry for any human being that doesn't see this movie on the big screen. It's like missing out on Christmas.

reply

Yeah, I don't see many movies at the theater, but ones like this are an experience rather than just a show.
