This show is a joke. all these hacks do is make it look nice without any engine work then get suckers to buy them. they are real low lifes
shareIt's hard to say. They never show them doing engine work, but it is apparent that they do a lot of work that isn't shown. They buy the car and the underneath the hood is a mess, but when they sell it the engine has been repainted and the under the hood is spotless. So they do some work. I would assume they do some work, otherwise a car that has been sitting for 30 or 40 years is not going to run, especially when pushed.
shareSo I watched 3 episodes of this "reality" show. They were on Velocity, and they started with episode 8, the one where the Old school guys buy a red 96 mustang and rebuild it. Being a car guy I was interested and watched the next episode. When the third one started episode 1 (yes Velocity showed them in reverse) I was interested to see how Old school was going to redo their 63 ford uni-body pickup. Well as they are talking to their prospective buyer you can see sitting in their lot a red 96 mustang.
Yes it looked like the exact same car, only difference was they removed the hood and changed the wheels and added a white and blue 13 (that looked really crisp and clear with no weathering and washed off really easy for a car parked in a field for who knows how long).
I just dont think they are buying them out of a field and doing that much to them for as little money as they put into it. Especially on the old cars, they rust, badly when exposed to the elements like that, and the ones they are getting are far to clean, and straight and easy to rebuild. I had a 68 mustang that came out of Texas originally and it was so corroded that it was missing floor boards and most of the trunk. It wasn't worth rebuilding.

I had a 69 mustang. They rusted like no tomorrow by the rockers, head and tail lights after 6 years. The 50's fords were worse
