How did Richie get the money for everything

Maybe I missed it, but where did Richie get the money to pay for all the arcade games, parts, travelling, bands, equipment, etc. All of that stuff must have cost a fortune and I don't remember him working anywhere once he started collecting games until he opened the arcade. I'm just curious cause it looked like a lot of fun.

He was in a band called Knuckle Sandwich which was signed to a label. I'm thinking he used that money to start it. Maybe sponsors and revenue helped, but wasn't enough to keep it open. With social media, Facebook and this movies, it see it being successful again if he reopens it. Very good documentary.
