Magnificent Film

I was lucky enough to watch this piece of art tonight in san francisco at the roxy theatre. The director also had a very good q/a session with us the fortunate folk in attendance. the director seems like a really smart and awesome guy.

anyway the film is incredible.
so ambitious and beautiful in my opinion.

its raw, nostalgic, but also feels cutting edge
its funny, its violent, its thought provoking and satisfying
in ways that put birdman to shame

like i thought birdman was good
and it is good (i actually liked it alot)
but this, this is something else entirely

the world of films is better because of efforts like this one
this movie has soul
it has integrity, it has discipline, and freedom

i think its inspiring as hell

further opinions:

the first "scene"
is david lynch to me
drips of lynchian love juice
and i love lynch

overall throughout,
there are noir elements, there are tarantino approved vibes, theres a lot of awesome things captured by the director, cast and crew here under the amazing and simple restraints
of 35mm

things that could never have been anticipated prior to the action of filming
in that lies the genius to me

okay anyways.. see for your selves. . I'm telling ya,, instant cult classic!!
