Pandering, predictable agenda driven clap-trap.

I had sincerely hoped that the previews would not be as accurate in their portrayal of the series as they were. I had just assumed that they were playing to the average PC consumer in content to draw them in and then would follow through with a program reminiscent of "The Wire" or "Homicide" as these were the production tones that I was receiving from the commercials.

Not to be...

Typical gratuitous slamming of "conservative" agents and agendas. Elevation of "ends justify the means" progressive/liberal actions and functionaries. Stereotypical characters and a fully "telegraphed" story line.

All in all, a giddy celebration of just what's taking this nation in a frightening direction.

Cool story, bro.

I didn't even think about any agendas the writers and show personnel had until you brought it up. Unfortunately real life is often full of drama and politics we may not agree with and putting it in this story only makes it more "real" and as the other reply said "It is a cool story. "

I don't see a clear agenda in this show. I thought both sides of the political spectrum have good and bad characters. And every character has good and bad qualities so it is pretty accurate and close to life in that way. Black and white doesn't exist in the real world there is always a gray scale.

A little messed up but we're all alright.

I miss Homicide as if it was yesterday. Don't you think it's about time to accept that nothing will ever feel like that TV show did? Nothing! All I have is a memory of that feeling and it's pretty sweet.

reply

Wow Homicide! That was a great show. I looked forward to it every week.

Maybe you are just a sensitive person, who fixates on perceived slights?
And there are always those who cannot accept change.

Adam believed that the family's murder was racially motivated and this prejudiced him against the suspects which lead to his decision to bury evidence.
Likewise for Isaiah who actually knew the truth but thought having some leverage over a powerful white man was worth sacrificing his integrity.

Chris is deeply troubled and is frequently admonished by her boss for making impractical, emotional decisions.
She believes her mother's side of the family are rotten because they had a hand in conspiring to frame her father for murder but it turns out there's a good chance he was rightfully convicted and her reasons for doubting his guilt are basically "He's my father" and "Wealthy people can't be trusted".

It's a lot more balanced than you're making out. Especially compared to most other shows on tv.

That what's hurting this country. I'm sorry but conservative politicians have went to the far right to differentiate themselves from Corporate Democratic Politicians. They generally look crazy and ridiculous. They basically push the corporate agenda then actual conservative policies. Most conservatives voters are misinformed and vote against their own interests.

This show was exploring how an amoral Justice system can be bought. How Injustice perpetrated by the court system destroys lives.
