Not entertaining in the slightest

Trying to watch this show but there is just nothing that really stands out about it. Not the characters, stories or anything. I truly only watched to see Munro Chambers and Jahmil French (from Degrassi) since I am a fan of them but they just have minor parts.

give it some time, maybe two episodes.

I don't think you watched the same show I did...

reply

I loved this first episode. Maybe this just wasn't for you. I was emotionally drawn to it

I don't think "entertaining" is the right word for the show. It's certainly thought-provoking and very well done. I have not decided if I will continue with it or not. I really don't enjoy grim, "grey" shows as a general rule. It's as if this show was in black and white (and I do NOT mean this racially but cinematographically--like the beginning and end of The Wizard of Oz.

i thought it was compelling,a fresh breath of air from the standard law / police shows

Agreed, halomaniac. I like that this show examines what happens to all the people who had any involvement, even very peripheral, with a horrific crime. That's a depth all too often left unplumbed.

Your right! This show has nothing special. The pilot was good but now this show is a drag. I seen this story line a million times. Dragging it out. The should have different stories each episode but no they're dragging one horrible predictable case smh. Thank you producer/writers ect.

case-per-week shows suck

I like this one, I find it very entertaining. OP, please give me an example of an entertaining show to you.

So you only watch because of two actors and then happen to find out they have bit parts and oh shocker you don't like the show?

Maybe you should go back to sensationalist shows like Under the Dome and Extant.
The Divide is not meant to be entertaining. It's meant to be a thinking piece about human nature with a side of suspense. If that's not your thing, there are plenty of shows out there that won't get you to think too much. The smart shows are rarer so if you don't mind, the ones among us who are looking for them will wave you goodbye and wish you a good life.

You tuned in because of two actors who happen to have minor parts and who performed in very different types of shows, juvenile shows actually. You ever consider this genre is just not for you?

reply

I'm enjoying it.

reply

It's not for everyone. I love it. It reminds me of The Wire because you get a 360 perspective and the characters all step into the gray area at some point. The acting and writing are top notch and I like the drawn out mystery of it all.
