I LOVED "Hope & Glory" in 1987 and was excited to hear about a sequel.
I have rarely seen anything as staggeringly inept as "Queen & Country".
NONE of the charm, humor and appeal of the original, this sequel is clumsy, badly scripted, BADLY directed and just painful to watch.
Awful, just awful.
Shame on you John Boorman.

I didn't really expect this film will be great as Hope and Glory, but, on the other hand, I didn't expect it to be that bad. Script is awful, unmotivated places are everywhere. I also expected film to be a war comedy, but war is somewhere else this time, far away from our heroes. There was no need for this film, really.
