Interview with Greg Carter about Lap Dance

I just watched the movie on Netflix (and with CC on!) and found it interesting as part of my own personal survey of "cheating" films - how infidelity is treated in movies from the late 1920's on - and especially the "woman" cheating films. (Realistically - not enough TIME to see all the banal man husband/boyfriend cheating films. ;-)
Greg is Black and his real girlfriend Junie is Vietnamese - and he addresses in this article why they changed them to (basically) solid middle-class White boy and girl.
Also he mentions that the "real" Chicago was a rich White man. (The truth often IS just so cliched...)
I do applaud Greg and especially Junie from escaping that "easy money" and power tripping life. Apparently Junie has not been quite as successful career wise in Hollywood as Greg has been - but at least she still gets some work in every movie he has any control over. But evidently they have never married nor had any kids - at least it's not public knowledge.
