Loved - hated (spoiler or two)

LOVED:
- acting of Broadbent & Duncan plus any scene with Jeff Goldblum
- having 2 lead characters over 60
- Nick finally showing some spine & saying no to his son
- cloudy weather & that view of the Eiffel Tower
- wonderful face of taxi driver at the beginning (Olivier Audibert - apparently a real driver, or at least not a professional actor - many of the waiters & hotel personnel in the movie were real service workers as well)
- original music

HATED:
- running out of hotels & restaurants without paying
- nastiness & cruelty of some of Meg's remarks to Nick - did she EVER love him?
- acting out their relationship & sexual issues in front of someone else's son

reply

Hated:
Her cruel, controlling, condescending treatment of her husband.
His weak, naive, gutless attitude towards his wife.

Loved:
His speech at the table during the dinner party where he reveals his flaws and then outs his wife's planned infidelity in front of her and everyone else. Priceless!!!

Hate would be too extreme a word for me; strong dislike would be the way I would put it.
- Watching Meg play these games just to torment Nick (or act out some sadistic fantasy) just wasn't my kind of movie.
About half way into the film when she had Nick on the floor walking like a dog to smell her crotch and then she turned away, that is when I stopped watching.
I'm not into a film about cruelty or a person who is tired of marriage, who wants to act like delinquent and be 'free' and be a jerk about it.

As for not paying, Meg was extremely self centered and that isn't entertaining for me.

Of course.
I also liked the glimses of Paris and the brief moments of wit in the film.
I much prefer wit over venom.

And for those positive things my rating is up to 4/10.

BB ;-)

it is just in my opinion - imo - 🌈

Hated the characters! I thought this film would be more uplifting but they were utterly hopeless and unlikeable people. I did not feel like rooting for them.

Enjoyed the location shots.

Hated

The entire Movie

Watched it on Netflix

A dentist appt is less depressing than this swill

what absolute twaddle expected much more of a talent like Broadbent

An idiotic story that does not need to be told

Loved

the fact I did not waste my money watching it in a cinema
