Elaine Benes, Old Christine, now Eva

I haven't seen Veep, but JLD has made a career out of playing self-absorbed women and Eva seems only slightly more evolved.

She's exasperated with the guy who doesn't help her carry her massage table--a big part of the in-home massage business. She expected her husband to forgo cookies because she "can't control herself." She humiliates two people she genuinely likes because she's fascinated by what she's hearing about her new boyfriend and doesn't want to give that up. She wasn't even particularly sensitive to the daughter she loved, distracted by the admiration and attention from the other girl.

At least Eva was capable of feeling some remorse, which Elaine Benes and Old Christine never did.

Is her Veep character also egocentric?

Her Veep character is 10 times more egocentric than the other characters, but JLD manages to pull it off to where you almost "like" her.
