Enjoyed it but a few questions.

I'm not going to start a seperate thread for each one so I will ask them all here.

1. You are giving a person a massage with bad breath would you not offer him/her a mint or stick of gum?

2. When Eva told Sarah that her and Albert had the best sex then later in the movie Marianne says the sex was lousy with Albert (by this time Eva knows that Marianne is Alberts ex) All of a sudden the sex between Eva and Albert is "lousy"?

3. When Marianne wants to introduce Tess to Eva and Eva hides because she recognises Tess. (Tess is sick with a sore throat.) They hug Tess says I love you and the mom says I love you too, and your bad breath. Not that big of a deal but I thought it was childish.

4. Cant remember her name but the blonde that looked like Scarlett Johannson. Why did she spend so much time with Eva? I realise her and Eva's daughter are friends. I started to think that she had a little crush on Eva or did she just relate more to Eva than her own mom?

1. I don't know what professional masseuses do, but I can't think of a non-awkward way to offer someone a mint in that context.

2. Eva was too influenced by Marianne, so yes, that affected how she felt about the sex she had with Albert.

3. Not sure what your question is here. Seems to be a statement. Yes, it was childish.

4. I think Chloe related more to Eva than to her own mother. Think about the scene where her mother wants to buy the exact same dress as her, even though she looks foolish (and Chloe tells her so), trying to wear fashions for youth at her age. And Chloe clearly is comfortable talking to Eva.

1. You are giving a person a massage with bad breath would you not offer him/her a mint or stick of gum?
A professional massage therapist absolutely WOULD NOT. One of the challenges of being an m.t. is that your clients may come to you in a state that you find less-than-ideal (sweaty from exercise, or three days past a shower, or with bodies that in some way are unappealing to you [rough skin; too much hair; too little hair] ), but you're there to provide a service, not to get the client to accommodate to YOUR needs.
. . . . . . . How would you feel if you were dining out and the waiter, while taking your order, handed you a stick of gum bc he found your breath so overpowering? Or your barber? Or a salesperson of any kind? The client is paying for the service and is to be treated cordially and with tact/in a way that maintains dignity.
. . . . . . . Eva handled it just right -- she said nothing about it but discouraged him from taking another deep breath.

3. When Marianne wants to introduce Tess to Eva and Eva hides because she recognises Tess. (Tess is sick with a sore throat.) They hug Tess says I love you and the mom says I love you too, and your bad breath. Not that big of a deal but I thought it was childish.
That scene exists to show us that Marianne is maybe not so nice -- maybe a bit critical and self-centered, especially when she should be focused on the well-being of the other person.
. . . . . . . In addition, it contrasts Eva and Marianne -- we remember that Marianne dealt with a semi-similar situation with grace and tact. The differences between them suggest that Eva might be a far better match for Albert than Marianne was -- the scene not only tells the audience that but it also gradually tells Eva that (as she sees Marianne more realistically and stops mythologizing her, she can she discard Marianne's negative view of Albert and instead trust her own positive view).

I started to think that she had a little crush on Eva or did she just relate more to Eva than her own mom?
She didn't have a crush on Eva; she viewed Eva as a surrogate mother, one who listened to her and nurtured her while also being fun and honest. (Remember Chloe's mother trying on the same dress as Chloe? She was overly wrapped up in her looks and her fears of fading youth/beauty -- she wasn't mothering Chloe as Chloe needed to be mothered.) And, Eva was in a small way exploiting Chloe's neediness, bc Eva needed to feel needed and loved as she faced the departure and pulling away of her own daughter.
