What Craig and Vince should have done...

So I just finished watching this movie and I enjoyed it. It's not great but it's certainly interesting. But one thing that really bothered me is that neither Craig nor Vince came up with, what is to me, a quite obvious idea: They should have pretended to be competing, taking turns winning the bets. And when the game goes too far out of hand just leave and split the money 50/50! They were willing to rob the couple together, but then they just snap and turn on each other when they both could have made a lot of money.

I believe Craig is the nerdy married guy, and Vince is the rebellious high school friend right?

What Craig should have done was gone home to his wife and kid after he got assaulted at the bar.

What Vince should have done was play the game his own damn self and done all that sick crap himself.

They never would've let Vince play alone. Ever. They needed two people.

Just like society. The rich needs to divide society into two groups that fight each other rather than work together.

reply

Yep, the final outcome was fully intended on their part (the rich couple).. that was the whole point of showing those flashback photos, they'd already observed that the two guys obviously weren't very good friends and therefore would be more easily manipulated against each other.

reply

Even if they were good friends that could happen.
