Just watched on Netflix...

Man, was this a dark movie although I liked it overall.

My 10-year-old nephew went real quiet with that scene where Mowgli [spoiler]comes across his childhood friend's head mounted on a stand.[/spoiler]

The ending was a bit confusing too... I wasn't sure what tone they were going for.

The white hunter was initially portrayed as a sympathetic character, but then Mowgli turns against him in a big way for the reasons above.

Yet, both he and Mowgli, are united in their hatred of Shere Khan with the hunter trying to kill him at the same time as Mowgli. Was he trying to save Mowgli, even as Mowgli had arranged for the hunter to be killed?
