I'm very glad to see that Hollywood is remaking this movie--only because it will give the filmmaker of "Starbuck" a lot of exposure.
I saw Starbuck at the Museum of Modern Art and thought it was great. The filmmaker was there to discuss it and I was hoping to see it come out here. I just read that it's available on DVD.
Curious to see how this version will be.
Agreed! I normally don't like remakes, but seeing that its the same director with an actor who seems right for the part I am actually looking forward to this one.

I saw the original at the Isabel Bader Theater when it ran TIFF 2 years ago with one of my American friends that's heavily into Canadiana and I asked her after seeing it what she thought.. My friend Cera really did enjoy the film and I agreed with her. It was a sweet, funny and overly entraining film.. I'm just glad the original director Ken Scott has creative control in the overall product so it might be worth checking out if the reviews are somewhat positive. If not I'll re-watch the original.
