Spoiler Alert: this movie ain't funny...

At best it's a drama with some whimsical moments.

That's an understatement-Schindlers List had more funny parts in it!

Just watched this last night mostly because Chris Pratt is the co-star, but it's a stinker. It has cute moments, and Chris is much heftier than his Guardians of the Galaxy or Jurassic World roles. I always enjoy films located in New York City and Brooklyn so that was a plus.

You're full of sh!t this movie is great.

That rug really tied the room together.

I agree. I was looking forward to seeing some of Vince's "fast talking" jokes. The movie had a good premise with lots of opportunities to fit in some good jokes, but they didn't go for it.

It's not your typical Vince Vaughn vehicle. Perhaps that's the reason it wasn't exactly a big hit.🐭

I think it's a perfectly fine movie as it is. Maybe someone does a derivative (or straight up ripoff?) in the future with more focus on sitcom, misunderstandings and "aw sh!t" moments. Something with Jim Carrey maybe? The American version is an adaptation from a Canadian movie already. Or perhaps the format could be adapted to a series, who knows? 533 children can lead to steady material for an episodic format. Each episode a new kid is presented, and maybe some of them could become recurring characters. The movie just scratched the possibilities. But the subject matter would be impossible to adapt without a good dose of drama thrown into. Not every kid would be an wacky unique character... Some would turn up being way worse *beep* than the 5-minute cute heroin addict. Some would be in worse situations than Ryan, the kid with cerebral palsy. And it's obvious there would be at least one case of involuntary incest... All those guys and girls were too good-looking for not having happened anything during that barbecue!

The "Who's David?" scene alone was worth it TBH. One of the funniest lines ever uttered.
