I think 2016 is gonna be a big year for Gal Gadot.
in January she's in the Kevin Costner film Criminal, in early March she's in the thriller Triple 9 & of course the end of March she's in Batman V. Superman, and now Keeping Up With The Joneses, which opens a week after Batman V. Superman.

Gal is every bit as beautiful as she is horrible in her acting, and in Hollywood that is not a bad thing, she has had more work this year than an actress with 100000 times her talent.
The thing is, I will admit, I rather see Gal on screen than an actress with 100000 times her talent! She is not just pretty, she is out of this world beautiful. What can I say?
And as said before, being from Israel makes her the wet dream of every old ass producer in hollywood.

I haven't actually seen anything Gal's in (tho she underwhelmed in the WW trailer) but I completely agree in the superficial world of Hollywood, talent don't seem to matter.

I think she's as good an actress as any other actress in history hired (primarily) for their looks. She was the ONLY good thing in the BvS movie and will star in what looks like the ONLY DC Comics movie to date that didn't/won't suck.
I would grade her performance here on a par with Angelina Jolie in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." It wasn't Hepburn, Streep or Davis but neither was it bimbo. She does well in action scenes and provides superb window dressing.
This movie ain't Shakespeare; it's a ZG comedy/action throwaway. Judge it on what it's hoping to achieve.
She's not a horrible actress. Otherwise she wouldn't be casted in movies. But she is miles away from great. She is less than decent. She is okay. Nothing outstanding, but not horrible. In fact no actor in hollywood is horrible. They are just less than decent. if you are comparing to one of the worlds best actors and actresses, then maybe horrible can be a compromise.

She's utterly terrible, a statue. Great as a person, and she looks stunning, but she's bad, really really bad in acting. There are other horrible one expression but stunning actresses in Hollywood to, like Danielle Panabaker, Kristen Stewart etc. Besides, for a movie of this caliber, you need an actress with the looks and the height, which Gal has. More than adequate. Isla Fisher outshines her in performance by miles, where she's just an average actress.

Megan Fox had preternatural beauty, even with the cosmetic surgery she's still hot enough to keep working.
I wise move by Jason Statham to take acting lessons, it will give him greater options. Otherwise he'll end up a wasted ragged ass like Steven Seagal. Acting lessons can turn around a flagging career, it's a wise investment - Claire Danes is the best example of that.
Obviously from the box office numbers of Keeping Up With The Jones, audiences are unwilling to pay to watch Gal Gadot attempt to act. Will it affect the Wonder Woman film remains to be seen.

Megan Fox needs to start taking a class or two because she has not displayed anything that resembles acting ability. At least with Scarlett Johannson, with her limited range, is actually working on it and don't get me started on Jennifer Lawrence.
Statham does show some chops. I thought he was pretty good in The Bank Job and he did put in a effort in Spy.
Keeping Up With The Jones looked awful and people just stayed away just for that reason more than anything else.
Statham showed promise in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. He took on too many roles for the money and got pigeonholed. He no longer needs the money time to invest in his future. Claire Danes took on a sequence of smaller roles after T3: Rise of the Machines, then she killed in Homeland. Statham will fokkow a similar course.
Jennifer Lawrence is wonderful but don't believe the hyperbole. She wasn't a natural talent, she got extensive coaching from two of the best character actors in the business. Lynn Dickey was one the other...

shareInteresting the difference between what men and women think are attractive and then even the differences in men finding various women attractive. I think she is amazingly beautiful, exotic and elegant.
I am not sure what people want from her in this role. Was she supposed to cry? be charming? She breaks things and kills people. People in that line of work tend to be a certain way and it is more realistic in my experience than some of the excruciatingly bad over the top spy chicks in many movies.
You see these soft glamour girls acting like they can beat someone to death with a canteen and it doesn't ring true.
Personally, I think she is miles better and more believable than that mess on Homeland or the idiot on Blindspot. Neither of them are even remotely attractive and neither can act and they don't have the physical structure to do what they are doing.
You can be a beefed u guy or gal more like a triathlete. One of the gals that works for me is a former US military EOD officer she is extremely attractive, extremely capable physically, brilliant and and attractive. She has an engineering degree and she isn't acting when she is fairly deadpan like the the Galdot woman.
I have also trained around Israelis and they have some incredibly hot women who are bad a$$ and finally a friend and former colleague of mine Rita Katz who wrote the book terrorist hunter and ran SITE for many yrs was one of the hottest women ever when she was younger now she is classy and beautiful tough and smart.
The point being is for this role Galdot came across as actually fairly legit.
