(spoilers) Two major things made me not like this movie

1.) At some point we learn that Morales is part of her intended revenge (something about his ancestors), and it also makes sense as it seems that Morales also had a role in keeping her locked up. He seemed to patrol the area to make sure the trapped witch remains isolated. So along with the ancestor revenge thing, it makes sense that the witch wants him dead, too.

So when he dies, why does she keep killing the random family of strangers? What's the point there? She's just evil? If so, then why tell us about the ancestor revenge thing at all? Why not just say she's a bloodthirsty entity?

2.) It's discovered that she can't WILLINGLY leave a host body, and this becomes a major tactic in fighting/running from it. They even say out loud, "Don't kill her! Shoot it in the legs to slow it down!" etc. You might think, "Oh it's cool that they're smart enough to notice that," but why isn't the IMMORTAL WITCH smart enough to notice that they notice and change up her gameplan?

The witch knows that in order to leave her host body, the host body must die -- well, considering she's this ancient immortal entity, you'd think she'd be smart enough to realize all she has to do is intentionally commit suicide. Walk near somebody, commit suicide and possess that next person, and repeat. Using the host body to try and "get them all sad" by revealing their inner demons, and then trying to kill them via clawing, punching, etc, was really stupid if we know she has the ability to INSTA-KILL anyone she wants. I know this would've made for a stupid movie, but that's kind of the point of good writing.
