shareNo. Not everyone die in this. It is an enjoyable film even with its faults. Some pretty powerful and interesting scenes. The only common theme with horror movies I guess is that the "good guys" make some very poor choices and mistakes that of course keep the story moving along.
shareNot everyone dies in this movie. If you want happy endings where everyone live happily ever after you should watch another genre :P . This is not modern it has always been like that as far as I know. Or everyone dies, or one person survives. This person will die in the sequel though.
Basic horror movie rules.
’’I'M A ‘‘
Oh my gosh, that's exactly the way I've been feeling about modern day horror movies. I even created a thread on the Honeymoon forum after watching that, because I just had had enough of horror movies ending the same way.
So glad to see I'm not the only one noticing this "trend" with modern horror movies, nor the only one tired of it.
Yep, used to be the main reason to watch horror was to be taken on an emotional roller-coaster thrill ride, knowing that everything will be alright at the end and all that pent up anxiety, real and imagined, would be released. Now you may as well just watch the news.
Revenge is a dish that best goes stale.
As has been said, it's not just 'modern day horror'. There have been bleak horror movies all the way back to the silents. It's not a 'trend', it's just a certain flavor of horror. There are always plenty that end on a brighter note.
Personally, I loathe the horror movies that have really unlikely feeling happy endings tacked on but I've never felt let down when everyone dies at the end.
With these unlikable people , you'll wish they all did.
