I'm not really sure. Could've been that she set her free or that she freed herself. The witch wanted to possess a strong person. Thats why she asked (i think to Felipe) who he thought was the strongest. If David or Ramon. So i think that's why she just let her go, she wasn't interested in Lauren....at first, at least.

I think it's the opposite. They didn't delete a scene; they added a scene. I think they realized she's inexplicably missing when ana maria 'kills' the aunt. So they added this scene where she's locked in a room to explain it. But they didn't realize it would make no sense later when she's magically free and not talking about it at all. Either way, it's a serious editing flaw.
