Really, really surprised.

I passed this up a few times thinking it was just another B movie with little to no plot and a cast of characters I knew little to nothing about.

I could not have been more wrong regarding the movie as a whole.

It was wildly entertaining, darkly-funny, well-acted (everyone, from the landlady on up was believable and seemed to be comfortable in their roles), and while the lore may have been done before, it had not been done like this.

I liked it a lot.

I looked up "Ninjas" on Thesaurus.com and it said "Ninjas can't be found." Well played, Ninjas. Well played.

I totally agree. Did not expect much, but, honestly, I have seen worse movies with better reviews. Jack's character reminded me a lot of myself: not fitting in, trying to blend in, but always failing, having dark secrets but wanting to move on. He was a tortured soul, haunted by his past and, sadly, the future, due to his immortality, but yet, he was oddly human, since he had all the attributes of consciousness and good will and the knowledge of what is right.

I resisted watching this movie for a couple of weeks as well and wound up enjoying the hell out of it.

Who loves ya, baby?

I hate horror movies and I have no idea why I watched this anyway, probably because of Rolins, but I'm really glad I did.
