About his daughter

The movie was great and different, reminds me about Only lovers left alive. Do you think his daughter is immortal too? She was beaten pretty bad at the end, but we dont see if she starts to regenerate in the car. Also she saw The Old man in diner, when no one else seems to be able to see.

It seems to be left open to interpretation.

Cain was shown trying to look at her back to see if she had wings ( or the marks where wings once were) like he is shown to have in the beginning. But this was inconclusive.

They initially said they were going to kill her by midnight, but she was still alive a couple days after when he finally got around to rescuing her. Was this because they wanted to keep her alive to torture her, or because she just wouldn't die?

She seemed to like meat quite a bit, what with the bacon comment.

And you already mentioned her ability to see the old man (who do you think this guy was, btw? god or Lucifer?). Maybe she was sent by these forces, as a test.

Something I was wondering about was the connection between his daughter and cara, seeing as they both presumably slept with that dude Tim. Just a casting convenience or something more? Maybe they were both tests. Tim was said by the bartender to be a mailman. Maybe because he promised deliverance? I'm reaching I know.

Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K.

No idea about who the old guy is, he might be God/Luci or some other powerful entity left to watch over Jack, who knows:).

If it was Lucifer he would kinda have to be a fan of Cain, doesn't he? Without Cain murder would not exist! :D

reply

If Supernatural has taught me anything then he's probably a (or maybe the) Reaper.

I want to say the Goatee Man is either Gabriel ("The Sword of God") or Rogziel ("The Wrath of God").

The old man was Death from what I gathered. Cain was angry because he followed him and wouldn't let him die, saying there is no god, and he told his daughter not to acknowledge him when he realized she could see him. Her ability to see him may have had something to do with her coming abduction and near death beating, more than her blood ties to Cain.

reply

I don't think she is immortal. Only Cain is cursed. Although according to the bible all his offspring got killed in some divine massacre or another and all humans are descendants of Seth. So it would be curious why she would be special. Nothing really hints at it except her seeing the devil.

L.O.V.E.D. "only lovers left alive"!! BEST vampire film in YEARS!! And the score to the film?...Outstanding! Fun Fact Tom & Mia were the leads in that Del Toro snooze fest the same year 'Crimson Peak'. OLLA had a fraction of the budget of CP and it is superior in ALL things.

It really did remind me of Only Lovers Left Alive.

Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down and a Wagging Finger of Shame

Unless the old man could make himself visible to anyone he wanted and he was just taunting Jack when his daughter saw him, then there's a good chance the daughter had some of her father's abilities (maybe not immortality but who knows).

You want something corny? You got it!
