Why does he pull out a bullet casing out of his head?

I hate it when movies do this. He was shot in the head and later in the car scene he pulls out a bullet casing. Thats not how it works.
It's weird because earlier in the movie he pulls out an actual bullet out of his chest.

Maybe someone in cosemtics or SFX *beep* up or didn't care enough and people rolled with it?

In a deleted scene he pulls out an actual gun.

This movie was a complete mess.

He doesn't. He clearly removes the slug from his skull. Either you weren't paying attention, or you don't know what a fired bullet looks like.

and to add on to what king of bob posted....he pulled it out because he stated that if he didn't, it would give him migraines.

It is definitely a cartridge. You can clearly see the primer in the close-up shot as he's pulling it out.

You mean the whole bullet thingy doesn't come out of the barrel?

I would like to think you're joking. Tell me you're joking.

Might depend on the bullet?
Sorry, I didn't learn this in NRA kindergarten like you Muricans.

Hmm, close up shot: https://i.imgur.com/BdSFCFP.jpgIn this wider shot, there is a lump that I can see being mistaken for a primer, maybe... https://i.imgur.com/8RqFKTI.jpg I guess the question to ask is do you really think the filmmakers would have had him pull a bullet out in one shot and a shell in another? ---It wants no straps. - Karlhttp://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000024/nest/158601447
