'What does commitment mean?'

Seriously? The more and more I have watched her the more it has made me wonder if she is developmentally or intellectually delayed. But that was just beyond….

reply

no shes not, shes just sweet and innocent.

Exactly! Not so innocent. I guess she really didn't know what commitment meant. Maybe this counseling session should have happened before they both made a commitment at their wedding. "Duh, I never knew it meant that I couldn't sleep with other people."

reply

Yes, there really is a difference between innocent and unintelligent or ignorant. Observation implies that she is not so much sweet/innocent as she is docile and not very intelligent. You don't have to be "worldly" to know what a very basic, prosaic word like "commitment" means. The Amish/Mennonites' shunning of education and self-interest in keeping their people ignorant in order to maintain insularity is very painfully obvious with Courtney.

How old is this girl? I would guess 14, if I didn't know she was married.
